Tawaka (Poplar) Grow Kit

Scientific name: Cyclocybe parasitica

Also known as Tawaka or poplar mushroom, is a species of gilled mushroom found mostly in New Zealand and Australia. A culinary favorite, their flavor is best described as earthy, nutty, and mild with a slightly peppery-sweet finish.

Tawaka mushroom kits, though reliable, may take extra attention and time to produce mushrooms, typically 10-18 days for pins to appear.

Using a humidity tent or humidity-controlled fruiting chamber will help mitigate moisture issues as long as there is proper fresh air exchange. If you don't have that, you can use the top of the bag to create a humidity tent.

Upon receiving your kit:

Remove kit from the shipping box as soon as possible. Then, unfold the top of the bag, making room for air space. It's also important to check and confirm that the filter patch is not obstructed. This will help the organism breathe and continue to thrive until you are ready to grow your fruiting block!

The commercial block weighing 5kg comes fully colonized and should be ready to harvest within 21 days of opening.
